Lilly (Anna Maria Mühe) is the leader of a girl's gang. To impress her mates she displays a cool and rough appearance - smoking non-stop and ripping off her classmates. Anna (Clair Oelkers) is a loner, both self-conscious and mysterious, interested in photography. While witnessing Lilly and her gang on one of their preys, and even taking pictures with her camera, a confrontation between the girls becomes inescapable. But despite their differences Lilly and Anna overcome their initial hostility. Due to her new friendship Lilly's reputation in the gang is about to crumble, and Lilly must decide between her old life and an unknown future.
