Most of us can only imagine what it must be like to have the mind of one gender, and the body of the other. For Lulu Gurney, a transgendered woman and former street youth in Vancouver, British Columbia, it was a difficult part of her life. People wanting to 'transition' can apply for and undergo treatment and surgery. However, these services can be hard to obtain for a former addict and street youth such as Lulu. From growing up with perceptions of genders, to not having enough money to pay for surgery, it has always been one thing after another. But with the start of the hormone therapy, will Lulu finally be able to become who she's wanted to be?
