Sacred Heart.
Directed by Simon Claasen, Netherlands.
7.50 min - 2005.
The short movie below, took the risk to address that difficult yet interesting issue of homosexuality and religion. Sacred Heart portrays a young Christian who is torn between her faith and her homosexuality when she starts to have feelings for her housemate. Directed by Simon Claasen, the short movie was shot in December 2005.
Simon’s reasons to cover that subject were simple yet touching: "I always saw [lesbian love] as something that nobody could hate, because it's very pure and affectionate. [...] Religion can be very pure, I'm not religious, but I can see how people can love God as much as they love someone else"
